The new Amsterdam Courthouse is located in the Amsterdam South district and has become the largest courthouse complex in the Netherlands. It features 50 courtrooms and is designed to accommodate over 1,000 staff members, along with a large number of daily visitors.

The concept was to create a civic building that is both functional and symbolic, representing transparency, justice, and openness. The design seamlessly integrates the courthouse with its urban context, ensuring it is not only a place of law, but also an accessible and welcoming space for the public. The open and transparent volume offers both employees and visitors views of the city, while also providing the public with an opportunity to engage with the building.
